For me I dont mind het slop if the romance is good and the characters are interesting. But the issue is that 90% of time het harem signals that there is going to be nothing but women taking up every character slot and there wont ever be resolution or payoff for the characters relationship. I feel the same way with high school romance driven yuri as well. I want to read interesting stories full of cute girls, but I don't really care to see everything put in limbo because the protag isnt allowed to put out, or men out in the cold because the built in haremfag audience are all misandrist creeps
