Who do you think Vishnu and Shiva are? Vishnu is a Vedic god, and Hindus (not just Vaishnavites) worship Vishnu directly as Satyanarayan, or as his avatars, Rama, Krishna, Narasimha, etc. Vishnu has literally tens of thousand of giant temples just in southern India. Shiva is Rudra from the Vedas and he is worshiped everywhere in India. Surya (the sun god) is worshiped every morning by Hindus after the bathing, while chanting the Gayatri Mantra, a Rig Vedic hymn dedicated to the sun god.
