The United States doesn't fight narco trade in Latin America. It wields it as a tool for its own international policy. It does that by being associated with cartels through its three letter agencies, in the hopes of undermining governments in the region, it goes to those same governments and tries to sell the solution to those problems in the form of greater integration under the American world order (sales of American weapons and equipments, "intelligence exchange" which allows access of American three letter agencies into those countries internal security aparatus, outright military presence of American troops on the ground, etc) and now, in Venezuela, by using it to justify the economic and military pressure that you guys have been imposing on them, and potentially an outright military attack.
