I need some anon's advice with my outputs. I don't know if it's a preset issue, prompt issue, or overall card+persona issue, but I'm getting some stale logs recently. My logs are mostly unrelated to mares so I don't know if I should post logs here, but I'll try to explain with words alone. I also think that most anons here are more writefags than the /g/ anons, so help me out.

Basically, the feeling I get from all the models I try is just "they don't get it" even with OOC commands, and even bottom of the line instructions or prefills don't work. It doesn't take initiative, it doesn't get creative and the few ideas that it shows just... shows up. They're more like suggestions of what to do instead of full narrative control. It doesn't do anything with it. Deepseek is doing it, Nonnet is doing it, 3.7 is doing it, GPT (chorbo, 4.1, 5-chat), all of them. I feel they're just getting repetitive and looping around the logs and card instructions. No character actively tries to do shit against my persona.

My preset is, for the most part, full of forbidden instructions, and they do work; I don't get why "be creative, do things, show up new places, introduce new npcs, etc" does not work for them. My main issue with Deepseek and Mistral is that they show some ideas but get dumb as fuck for slowburn sessions. It could also be that all my logs are just the same self-insert from last year, or that I'm just getting disappointed with AI in general, but I swear it was so much better before. I'll throw a simple question here: what preset do you all use? Are you satisfied with it? How do you circumvent AI looping around definitions and not doing anything creatively?
