It was made my Michel Ancel, one of the creators of Rayman and one of the devs that helped put Ubisoft on the map.

He had a lot of pull in the company due to being a well connected veteran and was the head of Ubisoft Montpelier so the Rayman games were well funded and actually good.

He was working on Beyond Good and Evil 2 but Ubishit management fucked him over constantly until he left the company in 2020.
Ubishit announced a new Rayman but Ancel is just consulting and I doubt it will be any good.
