Inclination towards curiosity. Never accepting that you know all there is to know. Constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s understood and what could be. At the end of the day there’s a lot of genetics involved too, but most average people are capable of pushing their IQ further by finding self awareness and attempting to unravel the mysteries of nature itself. Think about the picture you posted. How many people actually think about what an event horizon is? About what a “singularity is”? They know light can’t escape, but they don’t even grasp what that really means. An object in our universe that spacetime itself flows into at enormous speeds. Most people cant even grasp space and time as a singular phenomenon, or even begin to understand that they could be emergent properties of something less known and understood, simply because our evolution and senses are based around it. In short, OP, stay curious, and think hard on the unknown. Every great thinker that ever was was building on the foundation of the behemoths before him.
