I remember reading about this, they had their own North Park of oc girls getting shipped with the canon boys. There were multiple girls getting shipped with each boy, but they justified it as ALL the ships being canon at different points in time, since they were only 8 years old after all. Then one chick crossed a line by writing about her ship being married as adults, at which point it became a race to write wedding fics, which were then usurped by divorced-and-remarried fics, fanchildren being spawned left and right to make the preferred relationship more meaningful, until finally the whole community dissolved from all the timeline inconsistencies.
