>Russian propagandist media were “outraged” by today’s statement from the Prime Minister of Armenia —-

Nikol Pashinyan blamed the Soviet Union for making Armenians believe that Karabakh was part of Armenia.

In his address dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Armenia’s Declaration of Independence, the Prime Minister said that the “model of Soviet patriotism,” which was imposed on Armenians through books, films, and plays, became the root cause of the Karabakh movement.

▪ “This model of patriotism, which the Soviet Union created for us Armenians, reflected the ambitions of a victorious state in World War II that opposed NATO in the southwest. Every Armenian carried this socio-psychological system created by the USSR, which was passed down through generations. It was precisely this system that led to the Karabakh movement,” — Pashinyan said.

According to him, after thoroughly studying information on the Karabakh issue “from all sides,” he came to the “firm conviction that the Karabakh movement must no longer continue.”
