For the most part I tend to prefer everyone remembering him as a guy, though depends on the scenario. One of my favorite parts of genderswap scenarios is characters having to adapt to the change, and not just the swapped character, but those around them, and universe changes lose that I feel. Like in that pic I posted, >>149919278, you can tell both Sam and Danny are shocked and will need some adjusting (Tucker will probably too once he gets over his initial reaction), in a universe scenario the adjustment would be limited to just Danny and I don't find that as interesting. Plus with Danny there's the added bonus that he's canonically twinkish enough that a flat girl can pass for him (though there was only like two gags in the whole show about that fact), leading to the possible/amusing scenario of characters going "Wait, was Danny always a girl?", which itself is a fun reaction

There are some scenarios where the other way works, but I still prefer if at least a few characters know about the change, but such situations are best handled as "X years after the change" ones, seeing how characters have adapted

I like seeing how characters adjust to the change, not just the swapped one, so the former is best imo
