FNM I won the evening through no doing of my own.
vs. Grand Arbiter stax, Gix and Hearthhull. But the Grand Arbiter deck is piloted by someone who seems to simply derive pleasure from resolving stax pieces then having no real concept of what to do with them.
>have a large Melek out
>tapped after swinging into Grand Arbiter who has Esper Sentinel out
>confounding riddle for U end of Hearthhull's turn, find Gifts Ungiven easily best card in the deck
>hold onto it
>Gix player then vampiric tutors
>Arbiter flashes in Aven Mindcensor
>only have mana for Gifts with Melek's discount so rip
>Gix player, annoyed that his VT got counterfeited, swings his Gix into the Grand Arbiter
>inexplicably he decides to double block with his Mindcensor and Esper Sentinel
>?????
>Gix tries to take his play back, thinking Grand Arbiter would never fucking do that
>but blockers have already been declared
>resolve Gifts
>deck isn't combo and Mystic Retrieval is already in exile, so I can't just form something inevitable
>choose Gravitic Punch
>Reckless Endeavor (Hearthhull player)
>and fuck it, two instant/sorcery tutors because Chandra's Ignition wins me the game
>Gix player gives me the tutor
>Chandra's Ignition two players out of existence
>commander damage the final one
>win to others' misplays
The 2 hour game after with 6 Trinispheres and Stasis was far more entertaining.

I've been liking this deck a lot, (just cut Trinket Mage in the pic for Decaying Time Loop to make it truly creatureless)

but I already feel tempted to finagle together Tekuthal counter-removal tribal (turning Dark Depths into an artifact, making an army of Chronozoas by sucking up their vanishing counters etc) and beyond that Giada & Errant flash-control.

There's too many decks I want to build.
Threw together Melek "big mana" control. It's enjoyable, though randoms don't seem to appreciate the strategy once it's in full swing. Two games in a row now I've gotten to steal someone else's high-power creature and then Chandra's Ignition it.
>Supplant Form a Yargle & Multani one game
>Spelljack a Serra Avatar
Didn't win that second game but damn it felt good.
