i don't think i can see the safety in it. it feels like the opposite, like they're both on edge, at least by the casino anyway for obvious reasons.
it feels dangerous yet like they both enjoy each other's company.

i like the odd dynamic of it. goro is distant but he likes joker. he only spends his time productively but he just finds joker so fascinating that he makes an exception to spend time with him to do trivial things. he eventually confides in him at the bath house and then he avoids him until he HAS to get close again when infiltrating the pt.
then he gets jealous of joker so he goes out of his way to prove his superiority. he points a gun at joker's face before his mission is even complete. he tells joker he hates him. he doesn't even care how suspicious that makes him look because he just has to prove himself.
but is he trying to prove his superiority to himself or to joker? is he looking for acknowledgement from joker?
the only other person he goes out of his way to prove his superiority to is shido who he both hates and loves. goro both hates and likes joker...
