Reminder that no one is forced into an HOA. There are zero states where HOAs are the majority of housing. Reasonable people who don't want to agree to a bunch of rules simply don't buy in an HOA. Niggers of all races however will buy into one and then want to be a special exception to every rule.
HOA rules are the easiest thing in the world to avoid by not living in one.

Never happened. No one can be forced into an HOA against their will. People come up with these stories because they want to pretend they didn't agree to the rules (including how rules are changed) when they bought in what they thought was a nice looking neighborhood without realizing why it's nice looking. There's no legal process by which an existing property can be forced into an HOA against the owner's will.
For me, I'll deal with the possibility that my neighbor will park a large boat in his driveway or have a mailbox shaped like a cow. Some people don't like that type of thing and mutually agree with others to form neighborhoods of people who want uniformity.
