And then the floodgates opened. This actually stopped last year, I think. So nowadays people doing it are normally bored /pol/ and /g/ tardas who create github accounts with suspicious Indian-sounding names, but not quite right, and vandalise READMEs with stuff like "Pakistan sucks" and "Indian gang".
I help with open source, and one of the projects I help was vandalised by an Indian some 3 years ago during that retarded "gaymefication". The kid forked the project, opened the language files in Google Docs, and ran a spell checker. So, every word that had a similar word in English was "fixed".
