The Cindershot fires ionized particle grenades consisting of "hyper-charged splinter cores", which explode seconds after launching, damaging anything caught in its explosion. When fired while the optics are engaged, the weapon is able to guide the projectile with its aim, allowing the operator to manually guide the projectile onto a target.
