That would have been kickass, and now that they're not going to do it they should just kill him off tbqh. Or at least have him disappear from the story until they have a clue what to do with him. At least he wasn't in Sonic Frontiers, and hopefully the next couple games won't feature him until they have some idea of what to do with him.
