exactly this and i was quite an over achiever. back in canada i got the highest gpa in a specific engineering im not going to mention, willingly signed up for the military reserves in canada while being a manager for that engineering and their programming where i automated and held together expansion and automation and what did i get? kicked out of the canadian military for not taking the vax, all the responsibility after everyone in my division was fired except for me while barely getting a raise. i was even told to come back into the office to do even more which was the final straw and i just sold my condo and now im in south america quiet quiting and chilling doing the bare minimum if that
