Did the mastermind ever feed these Chickens in the garden on the fifth floor?

Who was feeding these chickens to keep them alive? This was something Danganronpa never explained. Did the mastermind occasionally stopped controlling Monokuma just to feed these birds?

Also what breed of Chickens even are these? The game failed to mentioned that.
