The game doesn’t give a good explanation to the overall lore why, but basically in tWoD later editions the Masquerade is gone and the Catholic Church brings back Inquisition to almost a 40K level and they’re basically if /pol/ thought every Vampire was jewish and they got both state and religious authority to remove mosquito. The original Inquistion was for the same reason in lore and almost wiped out all vampires, it’s why the Masquerade is enforced so heavily.
