The yom kippur ritual is a sin atonement ritual where the sins of the jews is washed away in the blood of a sacrificial goat.
The sacrificial goat has to be perfect and with unbroken bones, is marked with a red ribbon and is killed in a sacrifice to yahweh, which cleanses the jews of their sins for the year. A second goat is released immediately prior to the sacrifice, and is sent off in the wilderness as a distraction for satan.
The first goat is obviously jesus (unbroken bones, red sash, etc). The second goat is barrabas.
The jews literally say "the blood is on us and our descendants". It is the blood that washes away the sins.
Now why would jews write this myth? Because the temple had just been destroyed by good ol' Roman boys, so they were now unable to conduct their regular yom kippur ritual (they have not done it since). They then wrote the crucifixion myth to retroactively absolve them of their sins until the temple could be rebuilt.
