>I cannot name a single time where fans said "we want thing," the company complied, and fans actually bought it to the degree that made making it make economic or creative sense
That’s because the companies take the absolute laziest, corner-cutting approach because people asked for it and they think “they’ll buy it anyway.” They’ll obviously reject it if there’s no care put into it, yet companies just assume it’s the fans in the wrong for not wanting slop
Can’t name any times your scenario has happened, but I can name over a dozen instances where fans ask for something only for it to be shit and no one buys. Just look at the klonoa remake
>klonoa fans: “Klonoa was done dirty by shitty marketing and never got its due when it’s a great series. We wanna see him back!”
>their cries are heard and a remake of the first 2 games is made
>…except it butchers everything about it so horribly it’s hard to argue it wasn’t deliberate
>every klonoa fan avoids the game like the plague, even going as far as to discourage others from buying it because of how horrible it was and that it shouldn’t be supported
>flops
>bamco probably: “huh, guess klonoa really isn’t popular after all. Never using that series again”
