I think if Schumer doesn't retire in 2028, AOC will primary him. And likely win. The left is in a weird position. Either move to the center and risk losing the far left and fracturing their party, or move to the left and risk losing the center even more.
I think any move to the center will seem inauthentic and inorganic but they could try.
