You misunderstood me. SpaceX have put landers on the Moon, 2 this year in a single launch, Blue Ghost and Hakuto-R. I was saying that they also have sent cargo even beyond the Moon.

I mean "didn't go anywhere" metaphorically. Nothing came of it. NASA even ended the Space Shuttle program in 2011, so they had to pay Russia to move American astronauts to and from the ISS. Imagine how this would be in the current political climate if not for SpaceX and their Dragon 2 capsule.

I don't actually know how much SpaceX charge, so I can't comment on this. However, when I look at pic related, "unprofitable" isn't a word that comes to mind.
