I'm convinced that if any other software house, not named Fromsoftware, had put out a bossfight like this, it would have been met with memes and quickly scoffed off as unplayable.
But no, it's Fromsoftware, they can do no wrong. It's always a skill issue on our part.
That's why, given such a track record, it's even more baffling to see a bossfight like this, where everything and anything gets thrown at the player, relentlessly, without any semblance of balance.
I get that Everdarks are supposed to be hard. So far, they've pretty much succeeded at crafting punishing fights without crossing the line too much (although I'm not a fan of all Everdarks and I don't think they're all "fair"). But Libra? I wonder how this thing even got greenlit.
Do they really think we're all Let Me Solo Her and Ongbal? Do they really think three random players of varying skill levels can coordinate themselves so well to counter such a relentless assault of AOEs, debuffs and - worst of all - a seemingly endless number of NPCs ganging up on you?
With enough patience and skill, it's doable. Everything's doable. I don't doubt we're gonna get no-hit runs of ED Libra. But is it fun? Is it rewarding? Is it worth all the frustration? Personally, I've got my answer.
