>Digimon World 2
>Every digimon would get one exclusive skill, that can be turned into an inheritable for future digivolutions; you can have something like Lilymon using Giga Scissor Claw, etc, because it's a simplistic attack VFX paired with one of three canned animations per digimon, depending on if they're using offense/ranged/support moves
>As such, you can tailor a digimon with a skill list of interesting techniques, such as
>Necro Magic (Soul Mon) - Support skill that steals MP from dead digis
>Buffalo Breath (Raremon) - Counter attack that will confuse with 100% success rate
>Twig Tap (Woodmon) - Single target nature element attack that drains hp
>Shadow Scythe (Phantomon) - A single target dark attack, that will proc again and retarget another enemy, if it kills your initial target
>Tidal Wave (Whamon) - Multi-target water attack that lowers attack by 20%
>You can customize a digimon's entire movelist with techniques like this
>Cybersleuth signature attacks are also really interesting, and have varied effects but you only get one per digimon, and due to the choreography/flashy animations, you can't just turn it into an inheritable, because Trump Card is more than just manifesting four sword projectiles in front of your model, and sending them out to attack.
I unironically have more fun with Digimon World 2's movepool than Cybersleuth; every new digivolution also meant a new technique, that I was eager to see because I know if I liked it, I could carry it on to subsequent forms. Meanwhile on Cybersleuth it's like
>Wow, this ult has a cool signature move, i'll be sad to see it go..
Turn signature moves into inherits, and add a ghostly, semi-translucent filter to the animation of inherited skills to evoke the new digovlution using it.
