Pokrovsk has been fortified since 2014 tobe an impregnable fortress. Hundreds of millions of dollars were poured into it. Thousands of pieces of heavy armor are in there worth hundreds of millions of dollars. There are tens of thousands of soldiers there. Losing all that is a huge loss for NATO.
Not to mention that there's no big fortifications after it. Only Dnieper.
