They fixed that after season 1. Weasel got his ass handed to him often and wasn't beloved by the public anymore. Even focus testing said Weasel needed a more distinct character instead of being a gary sue.

The episode "I Are Terraformer" has a robot beating up Weasel several times for trying to terraform a planet without joining the Robot Union. Baboon then laughs at Weasel and states that he is usually the one who gets hurt all the time.
