My view is that society today is fractured and atomized to its core. The social fabric feels much like the collapse of East Germany in the late ’80s—everyone knows our “meta-society,” as I call it, is a hollow lie, and pretending otherwise corrodes the soul. Yet no one dares question the emperor’s new clothes for fear of social exile.

Women crave love above all else but struggle to question themselves in the way men often must. Tragically, many have been shaped into something almost unlovable—compare your grandmother’s generation to today’s and you’ll see how little remains that’s truly endearing once the physical element fades. Men, for their part, want to be needed, but most have surrendered that need to a dysfunctional devotion to the dollar-god. They are not needed, and they know it.

You could take the Kaczynski line and blame it all on technology, but such single-cause explanations rarely hold up. More likely, the only path left is acceptance—choosing to live as honorably as a man can, even while trapped inside a dystopian dream.
