I say this as a yume but I honestly think that the glazing was a rewrite because Shaoji realized that with the way how he was written Phainon, no one was going to roll for him. But it seems like it was too little, too late. I know that quite a few yume who skipped his homo ass both because his playstle was too restrictive and the pandering was too little too late.

Hence why they go right back to pushing him with Mydei again because that's what was there from start.
