im nervous because the things that made air ride so interesting are incredibly janky and have been reinvented by others since its release or subsumed into other nintendo IPs
the random contest system can sometimes just be terrible as the guy who randomly found the dragoon instantly wins 90% of contests
the vehicles in the first game were overall a tad TOO weird and i expect sakurai has picked up on that and will make them not weird instead of just less weird
a lot of vestigial shit like copy abilities don't really add much to the game but its KIRBY so i expect them to exist in some form
the unlock system was stolen for brawl but did not return for ultimate
flight and rails were already subsumed into mario kart
city trial is very cool but that shit is just fortnite to an extent
not my problem
my problem is i write TOO robust
i worry about edge cases I MAY one day care about but haven't yet cared about
for example using composition to build weapons so i can swap out the standard "every bullet reloads at once" for a "reload one bullet at a time" behavior, but then i end up only ever making my weapons reload all at once, or only add a couple behaviors that would easily and more performantly be covered by an enum and an if statement
