The big-brain way to have a kill switch is to make it where no one understands your code and you intentionally train all of your replacements wrong. Which is very common in the tech world, especially in big companies.
Big companies will lay off 200 people and then hire a consultation firm for 10X what they paid those 200 people a year later when nothing is working or pay 50X what it cost to pay them replacing all of their systems and features they worked on. Because they're big companies, they can afford it, everyone should feel free extorting them as much as they extort themseves with contractors.
