I think the idea here is that in reality both of them are trying to achieve the same thing. Replicate the reality. Its art that replicates life. In truth though, reality itself is a replication of art of a perfect form, so the prices of transmutation is already complete. When you then replicate the replication of art, we perceive it as "sovless" because the whole point of the art is be a unique replica of what it's trying to replicate.
In this particular case, the high res cat is desperately trying to match the "reality" which is already a complete replica of perfect form, because of this loosing the exact purpose of art, or at least reducing its value to near zero in contrast to low poly one. Even though low poly cat is also replicating the replica of reality, because of the limitations it develops it's unique "quirk's" which we tend to associate with "art of expression" and "sovl", if you think about it, whatever WE outselfs create is also a replica of a replica and we know that and because of it we attribute the extra value to it because we know that nothing can replicate the true form of the object and it has to possess some "abnormality"
