There's actually A LOT of space between being model-thin (and healthy), and having an amount of pudge that won't impact your health negatively in the slightest. The overall correlation is that less weight = longer life, if you disregard the anorexic flukes, but this data is taken in the world where 70+% of people are overweight and 50% or so are obese, leaning morbidly obese.
