that somehow doesn't surprise me at all, I feel like a lot of Asian taste palettes are used to that level of spice.
I dated a Thai girl right after college, and it was basically the same experience for me - we'd go out to eat and she'd hammer back spicy dishes without breaking a sweat, meanwhile I'd be hanging on for dear life lmao. Not even to mention paying the price later that night, which never seemed to hit her at all.
Indian restaurants were the worst for that tbh, at least at Viet/Thai places, she'd guide me away from the really spicy stuff
