These are not real world hedgehogs or wolves. These are video game characters, real hedgehogs don’t stand on two legs or are cyclops. In the case of Whisper her own designer mentions that the brown parts of her design are skin which is reflected in her 3D model. As for Sonic the skin colored parts have normal skin texture and the blue parts have a fur texture. The only sonic characters fully covered in fur are ones like Blaze and Tails, most other Sonic characters have bald areas.
