>the wife of a Conservative councillor called for hotels housing asylum seekers to be set on fire.
The moron even included the “for all I care” part of her Tweet and still states this.
>Judge Melbourne Inman KC said Connolly had been “well aware of how volatile the situation was” at the time of the Southport attack
A factually inaccurate statement unless, of course, Connolly had the power of precognition. In reality, there was no disorder at the time Connolly made her Tweet. In fact, when disorder did begin, she called for it to end. However, her words are apparently only influential when she gives a statement of indifference rather than a direct command for violence to cease.
>Connolly had sent a WhatsApp message saying the “raging tweet about burning down hotels has bit me on the arse lol”. She also said she’d “play the mental health card” if arrested
Translation: the Tweet I posted is getting heavy backlash, and people in court play the mental health card. Note, also, she hadn't been arrested by this point nor did she believe she was going to be.
>And if Connolly truly believed in her innocence she would not have sought what she believed to be a lesser sentence.
An idiotic idealistic view of how the injustice system functions. Playing the odds is a daily feature.
>You are free to say whatever you like. But you will also be free to accept the consequences.
All victims of authoritarian regimes were free to say whatever they liked, but also free to accept the consequences. Dumb statement.
>The liars will paint Connolly as a demure, childminder mum put through hell for a simple tweet.
And all they need to do is watch her interviews to confirm this.
They won’t mention her other tweets… the one reacting to an anti-racism protest by suggesting those taking a stand should house: “an illegal boat invader”.
Telling leftists to let illegals stay with them is now racist.
