Blame it on Marvel. Almost all Marvel chicks are generic chicks with thin hourglass figures, which doesn't work for Vanguard.
Vanguard need to be big and at least a bit bulky.
If they had more relevant Marvel chicks in some thick armor or something this would be less of a problem.
