>Alot of influencers are scamming people by offering the IRA gold schemes.
Most of the people here ITT will be immune from one of the worst types of scams, the "numismatic premium coin" scam.
These scammers haunt conservative websites and YT celebrities like Judge Napolitano. They talk about using your IRA to hold physical precious metals. So far, so good. You call them and talk to a boiler room operater. They will ask you a series of questions like:
>Do you have at least $25,000 to invest.
If you meet the criteria for a juicy mark, they hand you off to a professional "closer" who locks you in. These companies pay otherwise respectable mints to create custom gold medallions exclusive to the scammer.
These medallions are often in oddball weights. They aren't sold on the open marketplace, so you cannot look them up and find a market price. The closer truthfully assures you these are limited run coins, which he then lies about saying that they have serious collector value because of their limited edition.
The mark pays 25%-50% ABOVE spot, the scammers make bank, and another conservative boomer gets fleeced.
There's an example of this kind of company advertised at the beginning of this video.

Your IRA should contain US gold or silver Eagles, Buffaloes, or some other approved sovereign mint, legal tender coin with a low premium over spot. Maximum weight, minimum overhead. You will be paying for storage because they don't own self custody, so you need to select a vaulting company likely to not rip you off. (which has happened)
