Toriyama was a total hack in making everything (except Cell… kinda) depend on Goku in the end, thus making the rest of the cast useless. This was made extremely, agonizingly painful in the Buu saga since we were baited into thinking Gohan will stop Buu, and then it’s Goten and Trunks who will stop Buu, and then it’s Gohan again, and then it’s Goku and Vegeta, and then it’s finally Goku once more.

One Piece isn’t that much different. You need to be amongst the 0.01% tippy top of the world’s strongest fighters to negate Imu’s satanic powers, but at fucking least people other Luffy have such powers.
