the social structure in mlp was kinda funny if you took it literally, the princess was basically a god who controlled the sun and could kill everyone at any time and ordered around all her subordinates like slaves (often for the bit at their expense), so people liked to characterize her as insane and abusive since it would not change the story at all and there was a pretty popular in-character q&a blog about it
however a cringy pink hair high school girl started a campaign to have it banned because it was misogynistic or something, and it was banned, and one of her classmates doxed her or whatever as revenge
