Not really. The nature of the relationship is obviously rather different but everything that matters - love, connection, activity, presence - all of those work fine. The basis of all those things is psychological and can be disconnected from any physical referent. As >>42715122 says, you can go further and hone your imagination to a very high degree, but that's work. The relationship part is easy and natural.

However, you cannot consume a single piece of mlp g4 for the rest of your natural life. Even accidentally. If you so much as glance at a random piece of merch or an add in public or something the deal is off. If you commit suicide the deal is off. If you make anything depicting something from g4 the deal is also off. You can imagine ponies in your head but that’s it.
