Narcissist hunt for emotions because their brain eventually filters those emotions away. It gets worse and worse until they can only get emotional by killing someone for example. He doesn't kill the hobo because there's nothing wrong with that. He kills the hobo because he does feel there is something wrong with that.

It's these little pranks that makes a lot of TI question what is real and what is not.
It's possible that a prolonged exposure to these shenanigans can make the TI start to question simpler things like if they have schizophrenia or not, if they do contract schizophrenia.
