I have a 1yo male maincoon. When I sit next to him and pet and scritch him he purrs really loudly and leans into the pet but then he still has to almost immediately get up and get away. He always wants to be around me but at a legs distance to where I can't touch him. Definitely won't sit in laps, but he's calm the first 2 minutes you pick him up then he slowly struggles. Is this normal? A breed standard maybe? Can I change this?
