Probably already left the thread but what do you think of Ender Lilies? I thought it was pretty good and I'm an old fuck that grew up with all the good 2d sidescrollers as well. Though admittedly I've never really played a metroidvania before Ender Lilies so my opinion might be skewed here. Never touched HK even though I got it for free with PS+ since it didn't really appeal to me.
