I cant get a job, because I cant afford to go to college, because I dont have a job. I cant afford to pay back student loans for an engineering degree. I calculated that with a $120,000 salary, it would take 60 years to pay back the loan. However, if I went to college, I would have 54 years to live on average. (average male lifespan in US is 77 years.) At a minimum, I would never be able to retire. At most, I would die in debt, then it would go to my children.
If I did get a degree in engineering, my job applications would be rejected by an ai for not having the correct number of "keywords" or because im white. And in san francisco, A two-bedroom apartment is $54,000 per year. After a 42% tax rate, my take-home pay would be around $72,000. So the remaining $18,000 would have to be for gasoline, utility bills, insurance, student loan repayments, and food.
