the genestealers could've been an insurrection from within the own empire due to how fucking dogshit life in the imperium is and little would change. you can't really say the same for the nids, they are entirely their own thing and the one race that actually feels ALIEN in this scifi setting.

i will agree the genestealer encounter in the base was one of the cooler ones though. a bit less so on my second run because i was basically making it retreat every turn and just walking towards the exit, but still.
