I still lean towards Epstein hanging himself. He probably just had somebody important go into his cell and telling him that the deep state has successfully managed to contain his blackmail material, took care of his dead man's switch(es); and that he has to take the fall for that entire operation. And that person also told him that if he didn't kill himself in that cell they would just torture him to death very slowly. The forensics of the case seem to be pretty legitimate in that regard. Focusing too hard on that is a red herring to make questioning the situation look crazy.
