What's the best way to get tailscale up and running?

>Bare metal
From reading the documentation it seems all of their applications are open source, except for their servers.
I have small mini pc that I'm using as NAS(NFS)/SSH Box but I'm behined cgnat.
I want to keep accessing the NAS while I'm away and if possible run some scripts that would use my home connection.
Would that do it?
