I'm geniunely not sure if I like how this game plays, which is kind of bad because it's like the whole selling point.
It's like halfway between MGS3 and MGSV, which makes sense, but it doesn't feel as good as either. It's way less arcadey than the original with guards being way more alert which at times feels like it fucks with the tight PS2 level design. I've had DSP moments where I got spotted where it feels it was legit impossible for me to have avoided it due to being so constrained. Snake also doesn't feel nearly as good to control as he does in MGSV, I get not making him as mobile but he also feels way more finicky. I've gotten fucked over by the magnetism of the cover system a lot and Snake feels like it doesn't start and stop as smoothly as you want him to. Controlling Snake in the original was more clunky but he also felt more consistent once you learned the controls.
