>I think ea koetting is sort of right when he says that we're here to become masters of the physical. What's the point in being here putting up with the horrors of meat if we're not learning what can only be learned here?
If you really wanted to master the physical you'd be an engineer or a physic scientist using material means to tame your environment like humanity has been doing for thousands of year.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that to take a coconut from a tree someone healthy and fit will do a better job than the guy dancing in a ritual circle and asking his gods for it.
There's a reason most occultists are dirt poor across the globe and rely on donation (that includes churches) or offering dubious services.
Now if you look at what people achieve by spiritual means it's things like wisdom, enlightening, becoming moral guides for their communities and healers.
The horror of meats are here to teach you very simple lessons like a carrot and a stick, bad = pain and good = pleasure and the moral dilemma that can arise like will you be getting that sandwich or share it with someone in need?
If you look at our world there's an almost equal amount of danger and beauty and it's really fucking rich in resources, most of human suffering has been inflicted not by natural disasters like plagues of volcano but by other human beings to each others and it still is going on as I speak, so rising above the mud like a lotus flower in bloom is the supposed goal here, not eating more strawberry jam than your neighbor in the pigpen.
But eh, that's my two cents, and god knows that nowadays it ain't worth much.
