For the anons wanting to try it for themselves, you need to install the dependencies first:
apt install -y gcc liblua5.4-dev libzip-dev libsdl2-dev libsdl2-image-dev libsdl2-mixer-dev libsdl2-ttf-dev
(you should add this to the makefile Anon)

As for "a little unclean" kek.
On the other hand, it would be easily cleaneable thanks to lua.
